New Charm Candy purse pattern!

We have had some lessons on the new machine, quilt frame and the PCQ!!  I am really enjoying it!

I have also been sewing a little.  I’m working on my first Yellow Brick Road!!  I have chosen to use Western Themed fabrics!  I’ll  post some photos soon!

I hope that everyone has a good evening!

Baby It’s Cold Outside!!

This is from Thursday, it’s as close to snow as we got!  It was like ice pellets!

These are the border fabrics for my Neptune quilt!

I took advantage of the half price plus extra 10 % off at JoAnns, I really needed some quilting thread!

I also got another one of these cases to keep my current projects organized, lets face it I need all the help I can get in that department!

These are my “Floating Squares” from my Nest Layer Cake.  I really love this fabric!

Of course the boys wanted to say Hello!

I  hope that everyone had a great Valentines Day!

Have a great week!

Happy Valentines Day!!

I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day!  I got my surprise when I got home from work this morning!

I have never had a musical card before!  This one has lights to!

This is my road!  I now drive to the right of it, lol!

Here are my two babies, 7 weeks old now!

Lots of fun!

I started this Neptune project on Wednesday when I got home from work.  What was I thinking?  Do I really need another project?  What can I say, lol!  My number of UFO’s has increased!

HoWdY! I’m BaCk!

How is everyone?  I hope that everyone is doing well!  I know that it looks like I totally gave up on my blog, but I really didn’t!  I’m back and not going to wander away anytime soon, promise 🙂

This little guy and gal were born the week before Christmas, aren’t they cute?

This is my Christmas present.  Grace frame and Juki machine!  We have played with it a little bit 🙂

This is Pika helping me to organize my fabric stash!

Isn’t he adorabale!

He also likes to help me sew!

Lately I have been working on some new projects!  I have two of these “Floating Squares” quilts in the works.  I cut into a Nest Layer Cake to make one of them.  It was my first actual Nest project.  I fell in love with all the fun fabrics in the layer cake, I guess thats the best part of a layer cake, jelly roll or charm pack…getting to fall in love with the entire line of fabric!!  I love Tula Pink and all her beautiful designs 🙂

This is a “Floating Square” quilt that I am working on out of Moda’s Posh I can’t decide if I should make it bigger, at the current size I have already added to the length and the width.  It still needs two more borders if I follow the pattern, (it’s from the Piece of Pie book I used last spring).

As you can see Pika approves 🙂

This is another quilt that I recently started.  It is currently just sewn into strips.  It is made from my collection of Amy Butler fabrics and some fat quarters of her new line “Love”.  My friend Angie and I split our fabrics, she recently bought a pack of “Love” fat quarters and well I have been collecting for a while!  I cut out all the bricks using Amy’s Lotus Brick Pattern.  I’ve always I wanted to make one of these!!

Snack time!  This is the only photo that I could take of Blondie, (aka Sissy) she is too afraid of the camera 😦

Mur, relaxing with my husband on my first quilt, “Wolfies”.

One of my favorite photos, I took this last month when we ordered Pizza Rolls….

inspection at the puppy gate!

I’ll leave you with this adorable face…..

Thanks for stopping by!

Sunny Monday

Wow it is such a beautiful day outside!  I am so thankful for the rain we got this past week!  We just need a repeat next week and then again about a week and half later!  The drought here has been so awful!!  I worked an a Stacked Coins Baby Quilt, (crazy mom quilts or the moda bake shop).  It goes together pretty fast!  You just cut your 5″ charms in half, sew 22 pieces together.  Make 5 sets of “22”.  Then you put them together with the sashing and border fabric, (1.5 yards of white…cut  6 pieces 3.5″ X 44.5″).  I like the results, I added 4 new pinks and 4 greens.  I have 4 new yellows to press and cut.  Then I will add 4 new blues to the group.  I still don’t know what the 4th baby is!  The brighter colors make the coins “pop”!

This is the apron pattern that I got at Its a Stitch last weekend.  I think that I will work on it when I get the baby and birthday quilts finished!

Pika and his chewy!

Blondie, looking worried!

Mur taunting Blondie, poor girl!

I still need to learn how to compress the photos 😦   I ended watching the rest of Friends Season 2 and have started Season 3.  I am glad that I got a little sewing accomplished!  I also purchased an office type chair for my sewing room 🙂  I am so thankful, because I have had no furniture in there at all!

Well I better go for now!

 Happy Sewing!

March Madness!

Monday was my birthday 🙂  My mom got me this beautiful and delicious cake.  I sampled it just before I left for work, (night shift).  I share my birthday with my new blog friend from Kentucky, Kristie, the Cowgirl Quilter.

Of course Mur had a sample of cake as well!

I got the top put together for Christie’s birthday quilt, I’m just not ceratin when I will be able to get it finished.  My mom came and worked on it a little last night.

A few more disappearing nine patch blocks before they are cut apart.  I just found out another co-worker has a baby on the way, thats two more after we finish the two we can’t seem to finish…4 plus the one that one that actually was given to the new mom…a total of 5!  Wow thats a lot of babies!!

Check out this little guy, its a chain ripper.  It’s just a tiny seam ripper stuck into a small base.  It works really well!!  I don’t think that this would be to difficult to duplicate at home!  It was apparently all the rage at the big quilt retreat, (that I did not attend).

I was able to do a little sewing on my Flea Market Fancy, (crazy mom quilts).  I also have all the white cut out.  I even started sewing more of the Ashleys Journey blocks for another quilt, hopefully this one will be for me 🙂 !

I also have to go back and compress my photos so that they do not take so long to load.  That is why I haven’t been blogging.

Well I better go for now!

 Happy Sewing

It’s Friday

Of course that  means my “weekend” is over, I go back to work tomorrow 😦02-18-09-035

While I was in Houston I went to Painted Pony and Quilts.  I found this book, Piece of Pie …Layer Friendly Quilt Patterns (by Brenda Bailey and Bonnie Bailey).  I especially love the one on the cover of the book, it’s called Ashley’s Journey.

I just started one!  It’s for my friend Christie, her birthday is March 12th,  If I don’ t have  it ready by then,I will certainly have it finished before her Spring Break Holiday!

I also like this quilt that is featured on the back of the book, it is called Links to the Past.  The book also features a pie or other sweet recipe with each quilt!

This is Blondie, (aka Sissy).  Blondie is very camera shy.  When she sees the camera come out she acts like she is in trouble.  Blondie is never in trouble she is the best girl ever!  Blondie came free with purchase of cows 6 years ago.  My in-laws kept her until we got a yard of our own.  Blondie is believed to be half Golden Retriever ad half Border Collie.

Pika and Mur wanted to say hi!

Well I better go for now!

 Happy Quilting!
